Well written as usual. Unfortunately I am not so knowledgeable about such matters. My personal two bits: Yes Convenience is provided, however only those E-Tailers who can provide consistent experiences at VFM will be able to survive and grow. India is still 80% touch and feel; otherwise how do you account for the online travel companies going offline too? I still wonder as to why someone like futurebazaar.com is not seriously integrating their online and offline strategy. Why can I not book online, but pick offline or vice versa? Why can I not have a computer/connectivity access in all the stores to complete my purchase (more importantly, product currently not available on the shelf and have them delivered directly home...a la Tesco).
It is just a question of who is willing to experiment and take the first step towards a consumer.
